Valerie Red-Horse Mohl has over 25 years of in-depth experience as a securities principal holding ten FINRA registrations. In her career, she has served as a financial advisor, asset manager and investment banker having raised, structured, and managed over $4 billion in capital with a focus on Native American tribal clients. She currently serves as the Deputy Chief Investment Officer (DCIO) for Responsible Investing in the Bureau of Asset Management within the New York City Comptroller’s office overseeing the five pension funds of New York City; the current AUM (assets under management) of these pension systems is approximately $300 billion. She is also a former appointee by U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen to the Treasury Advisory Committee on Racial Equity with a focus on access to capital.

Additionally, she serves on the Advisory Board of Stanford University’s Center for Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity where she also teaches an undergraduate course on Entrepreneurship for Social Impact and Sustainability. She is the Board Chair for the Boys and Girls Clubs – Native Services and is also the founder and CEO of Red-Horse Native Productions, Inc. and is an award-winning filmmaker (director, writer, producer). She married her college sweetheart (a former NFL player) and they have three children and two grandchildren.
