Emmy-nominated film producer, Simone Pero is the Founder and President of For Impact Productions, a sought-after social impact consultancy for artists and filmmakers, embracing projects that positively impact society, culture and humanity.
Pero’s producing portfolio includes the 2025 feature film LILLY starring Patricia Clarkson about fair pay icon Lilly Ledbetter (theatrically and digitally distributed by Blue Harbor Entertainment) and THE TALE, starring Laura Dern, nominated for 25 awards, including two Emmys and a Golden Globe (distributed worldwide by HBO Films). Under Pero’s leadership, THE TALE was also lauded for its groundbreaking film-anthropy model and global social impact campaign which served as an important element in the passage of state Statute of Limitations laws, international advocacy initiatives at the United Nations, and clinical advancements.
Festival documentary hits VIVA VERDI! directed by Yvonne Russo and acclaimed documentary THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING with Geena Davis, Meryl Streep and Shonda Rhimes were Executive Produced by Pero. VOW OF SILENCE: THE ASSASSINATION OF ANNIE MAE, Russo’s Disney Onyx award-winning documentary-series nominated for a ’25 Humanitas Prize was associate produced by Pero. Her filmmaking career began with Pero producing Alice Elliott’s powerful examination of disabilities activism in BODY & SOUL: DIANA & KATHY broadcast on PBS and short-listed for an Academy nomination.
In 2025, Pero expanded For Impact Productions to include a course creator division with her signature advisory cohorts and workshops, equipping a greater number of artists with consultation for commercial, artistic and social impact.
Pero began her career as a public policy analyst at the U.S. Department of Labor, Women’s Bureau and served on the Clinton/Gore ’96 advance team. Prior to launching her own firm, Pero was a Corporate Communication executive at MTV Networks, Rainbow Media/Cablevision (now AMC Networks), and for the Taproot Foundation, and consulted for a number of Fortune 500 companies and leading nonprofits.
Named by Cynopsis Media as a Top Woman in Media in Community Building, Pero is a dynamic public speaker, and an active leader in the media and entertainment industry. She currently serves on the President’s Council of New York Women in Film & Television, and is a member of BAFTA the British Academy of Film and Television Arts North America, the Producers Guild of America, the Television Academy and the Global Impact Producers Alliance.
Pero is currently on faculty at the Stony Brook University Killer Films MFA in Film & TV program and holds a Master’s Degree in Public Affairs and Policy.
