Dr. Michal Tapia is a bilingual Afro-Latina leadership consultant, facilitator, speaker, and doctoral researcher with over 20 years of experience across nonprofit, healthcare, education, and corporate sectors. Her work sits at the intersection of belonging, identity, and psychological safety and is grounded in a core belief that has guided everything she builds: belonging is not a bonus. It is the foundation of everything.

Dr. Tapia is the founder of M. Tapia Consulting LLC and co-founder of the Latino Impact Institute and Latino AI Summit, a national movement that brought together hundreds of leaders across sectors, achieved a digital reach of 25,000+ within weeks of launch, and was called "the most human AI event ever." She is also an adjunct professor at Lehman College and a proud first-generation Dominican American.

Her doctoral research, the first of its kind to center the psychological safety of Latina professionals, surveyed 145 women across industries and regions, surfacing the lived costs of environments not built for them and the conditions that allow them to thrive. From that research, she developed the V.O.I.C.E.S. Framework, a culturally grounded model that provides organizations with a research-based roadmap for building cultures where every voice is not just heard but truly valued.
