Yeruwelle de Rouen She/Her/Hers

Speaker, Consultant, Coach.

Fields of expertise:

Yeruwelle is a transformative leader in equity, belonging, and inclusion (EBI) with over 13 years of experience creating equitable systems in both climate and institutional policy. Her innovative approach challenges the foundational frameworks of what she terms the "American Domination Society" a system born from colonization that prioritized conquest over partnership.Growing up in a multi-ethnic American home gave Yeruwelle a unique perspective on power dynamics and cultural bridges. As a multi-ethnic, light-skinned BIPOC cis-woman, she navigates spaces with deep awareness of intersecting identities and histories.

Yeruwelle's methodology begins with individual and group wellness to support creativity and adaptation. She combines expertise in counseling psychology, trauma-informed care, philosophy, rhetoric, law, Critical Race Theory (M.A.), and restorative organizational development to facilitate cooperative strategic planning that repairs harm, empowers voices, and creates sustainable change. Her radical approach has flipped traditional DEI training models, elevating employee retention by 5-15% in less than 24 months. Rather than offering band-aid solutions, she helps organizations shift from domination to partnership creating spaces where mandatory trainings are replaced by authentic belonging.

Yeruwelle has designed and established numerous organizational, collegiate, and K-12 programs that sustain multicultural and socioeconomic diversity through long-term implementation and change management. Her work has been trusted by brands including Denny's Restaurants, Girls Inc., Portland Metro STEM Partnership, Green Leaf Guild, Oregon Department of Education, and Portland State University.
